The Sonata 'Undine' by Carl Reinecke has become such and important piece for the flute repertoire. Based on a novel by Friedrich de la Motte Fouque. Undine tells a story of a water spirit who marries a knight in order to obtain a soul. This German romantic piece written in 1882, is a must learn for all flute players.
